PB Craft Station thx to Knock off Wood

When I saw this "I FELL IN LOVE", right away I got started looking so forward to sharing space with my daughter & granddaughters. Oh my goodness, I have finally finished this GREAT craft station. Ana over at Knock Off Wood, posted a photo from PB and put the plans together for anyone to build.

Between soccer practice & games, meetings & errands..this took me about 3 weeks. I did a few modifications, I chose to have all shelves permanently attached instead of using shelf tabs. You will see in the photo with the 9 cubes, the one in the center is not the same..I like a little diversity and you couldn't make then "Even" if they are being attached permanently, there is not way to put nails or screws into the shelf. On the other side, I chose to leave the center open for hooks, seems I have a lot of craft items I buy come in hanging bags and I dont want to open them till I use them, so I will be hanging them on the hooks..the bottom part will be left for a small trash can for all the scraps from crafting.
Only one drawer was added, I really didnt feel I needed a drawer on both sides, really I can only work from one side at a time...and little girls will prolly just put trash in there, so I saved myself a little time.
Why did I choose the colors? Well originally it was going to be all brown..but Ana had asked for something bright, she was looking forwards to seeing something with bright colors....SO my daughter & I decided on the Sunshine Orange..heck the table is just in my craft room so I thought it would be fun...stayed with the brown on top, which I LOVE!

cubbies built....

primed....

Painted.."Beautiful" Lowes. Valspar Autumn Enchantment

Attaching the drawer to the top....

Top is on & painted a wonderful chocolate brown....

Finished....love it!

Hope you get a chance to build this...I am looking so forward to using the craft station for sewing, computer works, crafting with the kids and it being a beautiful piece of furniture to my craft room...

Building the Craft Table

I know I haven't blogged in a bit and I am sure you are all excited to see the next project I have done. I have been building the craft table that Ana over at Knock-off Wood posted on her blog. I am having the greatest time building this, should be finished in a couple of day and "cant" wait to post the picture. I will leave one part of the excitement...Ana has been asking for some to use bright colors, knowing this would be in my craft room....I said "OK!" So here is the color and in a couple of days I will post the finished product...It's WONDERFUL

Its called Autumn Enchantment from Lowes

Too Cute....Building Block Name

Wow..these came out just too darn cute...
Recently while out shopping at the fun thrift shops in our town, found these two frames..cheap! My little granddaughters and their parents are moving into their new house and wanting to decorate and do different things for their rooms, I've just been coming up with little odds and ends.
A couple of weeks ago my little granddaughter Jillian and I spent the morning playing with building blocks. Taking different pictures, we decided to make both her and her sisters names with the blocks and take pictures..thinking nothing of it, just cute pictures.

Once I got the frames home, I thought of a great way to use both the frames and the photos we had taken of the building block names....so here we go.

Took the frames apart, sanded

Cropped and printed the photos of the names

All paints/fabric/photo paper I already had on hand in my crafting supplies. Spray painted with Valspar from Lowes..colors Mediterranean and Tulip Pink.
We chose to use Orange burlap with the blue frame and cream colored burlap with the pink frame. Covered the board back with the burlap, using the hot clue to attach. After trimming the photo, laid it on the burlap (did not glue or tape, didnt want to cause wrinkles) put the glass on top, slipped into frame and used wide clear tape to seal up the back.

Took me about an hour to do these..and the end results were a hit!
My little granddaughters will be putting their name sign on their bedroom door..they want to make sure everyone knows which room is theirs.
Just another adorable rejuvenation for pennies

Lovely Book Shelves...compliments of Knock-Off Wood

My project without the help of my hubby..really I had no help from anyone. This is a one women job ;)....Ana over at Knock-Off Wood has some of the greatest plans...this is one of two bookcases, using simple plans lined out..this was a fast and easy project, the results are wonderful. I took the simple layout to Lowes so they could cut it for me..they charged me nothing! Two hours to put the shelves together, prime, a couple of coats of white paint, clear vanish for the last coat. (incase the grandchildren write on it, it will be easy to clean. I built this for my little granddaughter room, she will be loading it with baskets and toys....

In the process of building

Completed bookcase....moving on to sanding, priming and painting

complete..........lets decorate!

Great ease and wonderful results

The "Beach" Bedroom Makeover

..This was a fun, about 4 day project. My youngest daughter turned 8 this past summer and really wanted a new room...Her request, a "Beach Room". So on the search I went to find things I use in her room without spending much money, in hopes that somethings we already had could be reused and eventually when she is tired of it, I still think some of the solid things can be passed to the next upgrade.
I dont have previous pictures, but imagine a little girl with lots of toys, with marshmellow green walls, twin iron bed with lots and lots of momento's from her infantcy.
Took off to the party store, walmart and lowes for paint..she chose this beautiful ocean blue.
So heres what we ended up with.....PRETTY!!

The palm tree came in a package, thin plastic that I used 2 sided tape to stick...to the right is a play house behind the leis. The chair is over 20 years old, still in great shape..I went to Walmart and purchased 2 cheap sets of sheets..$8.00 a set for twin..bought bright orange and bright green. Used a flat of one color for the window covering and the flat of the other color to "quickly" cover the chair, (no sewing). Used one of the pillow cases for the seat of the chair. Using the pillow cases for throw pillows on the bed..so for $16.00 (2 sets of sheets) I got multiple use for "cheap"!

I went with solid colors as much as possible..just felt it was a little more virsital..left side, half closet, half play house..(this was built for her as a toddler)..Hawaiian girl, again plastic with double sided tape to attach

I purchases the grass skirt (its really to decorate your deck)..its soft and really fun so I use it for the valance and the bed skirt...again using solid fun bright colors. The Hawaiian flower rug was purchased at Walmart.

The shelving units were put in when she was a toddler, purchased at Home Depot. Above the desk I painted a Beach scene, palm trees included..accessories purchased from the Party Store, Walmart and Big Lots
Truely a fun room, she loves it and I love it that she does.
When she gets tired of it, take down the Hawaiian stuff and your back to a basic bright colored room. Have a new room for again very little money.
